How to care for an itchy scalp
The scalp is probably the most neglected area of the body when it comes to care. That's why it's especially important to care for the scalp properly so that it regains its balance.
If your scalp is dry and itchy, you should choose the mildest shampoos possible. This is because the scalp also contains protective lipids, which can be washed away by aggressive shampoos, disrupting the skin barrier and causing the scalp to dry out even more.
Products containing moisturising ingredients such as urea are ideal for soothing irritated scalps.
It is also important not to wash your hair with water that is too hot. Although hot water initially relieves the itching, it also removes oil (lipids) from the scalp, causing even more irritation in the long term.
It is essential to treat the scalp to prevent permanent damage to the hair roots, which could lead to disruptions in hair growth and hair loss.
